LOID is a specialty within the field of speaker profiling. In contrast to e.g. its somewhat older sister disciplines speaker identification and speaker verification, very little research is published in this area.

Verified makes heavy use of its scientific advisory board and liaises with researchers in relevant areas on an ad hoc basis to ensure that it sets adequate standards for all aspects of its services. Verified also itself, on a regular basis, partakes in and contributes to conferences, in particular concerning forensic linguistics.
